Liquitex Crackle Paste

Liquitex Crackle Paste can be mixed with colour to create a structurally stable crackle effect on rigid surfaces. It dries to a hard, opaque finish and maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality. This medium can also be used on its own and painted over once dry.

Specifications:

• Contains 237 ml (8 oz)
• Can be used with acrylic paints
• Can be used on all acrylic-friendly surfaces (rigid supports only)
• Can be mixed with acrylic colour (using no more than 15% paint to 85% medium)
• Cracking will vary depending on how thickly you apply it (the effects will be more obvious on thicker applications, but will take longer to dry)
• Recommended techniques: crackled texture, vintage look

Tips:

• Do not dilute with water
• Do not force dry with a fan or heater, as this may result in less or no cracking.
• Do not try and slow the drying time by adding a slow drying medium, as this will affect crackling effect.
• Apply paste evenly to surface with a palette knife
• Let dry for at least 24 hours before painting over
• When using on wood, seal with a base layer of fluid/gel medium and let dry before Crackle Paste application.
