Frequently Asked Questions

Which manufacturers do you carry?

At Art Cansel, we carry art supplies from Colart, Demco, Drytac, Elmer, GPS Concepts, Itoya, and many more!

What kinds of art supplies do you sell?

At Art Cansel, we carry acrylic paints, crayons, pencil leads, cleaning supplies, easels, and much more.

What types of artwork can be found in your gallery?

At Art Cansel Gallery, we exhibit all local artists’ works, including high quality Giclée prints and canvas prints, original fine art paintings, sculptures, mixed media, as well as some metal works.

What’s involved in dry-mounting?

Dry mounting is a permanent mounting process for art prints, posters, and other paper-based pieces. Artwork is glued to a mounting board using heat and pressure. The standard mounting board is usually foam core, but other mounting boards are available.

Can you stretch artwork that’s already on canvas/fabric?

Yes, we’re also able to take an existing piece of artwork that’s on fabric or canvas and stretch it onto a wooden frame.

What are your recommendations for shipping artwork?

We custom build shipping boxes on site and recommend them for both long and short distance shipping. They ensure a snug fit so that your piece won’t move around or get damaged while being shipped. We also offer shrink wrapping services for those who sell individual prints at various markets or in stores. This gives your prints both protection and stability. It’s also an easy way to show off the artwork you’re selling!

What is involved in plaque mounting?

With this service, the image is mounted on a piece of pressed wood, and then it is permanently sealed with a clear laminate. The edges are then beveled and finished with your colour choice.

What types of items can you frame?

We offer custom framing for original art, photos, prints, posters, needlepoint, sports memorabilia, medals, and so much more.
